26 décembre the distorted Xmas...This year, i quite didn't get the feeling of xmas...even until now, 26th Dec...i guess xmas came too quickly that I didn't even have time to realise it...soon, another year would have passed by and I would start thinking back about the past year... Ever wonder why people wish each other "Merry" Christmas??? What is there so "merry" to xmas?? On my side, the hectic last minute shopping for xmas gifts is more of a hassle than anything else...the choice of clothes for typical xmas family dinner parties where everyone would ask me "So are you still in high school dear??"...or the traffic on the road, waiting for a bloody parking at the mall or supermarket...!! :P We've even stopped putting up our xmas tree at home, mum says my sis and I are too old for that childish activity!! :P Yeh, well, as my mum says, there is more a spiritual side to xmas than anything else...all those material stuff are compareless to the true meaning of xmas...but the fact still remains...xmas IS a commercial activity, an opportunity for businessmen to make money and market their goods...For instance, let's take the Coke ads on tv yeh? Why on earth would you drink a freezing cold coke in the middle of winter in the snow???? Does it make sense??? Hell not!!!! It's all Marketing baby!! Leave that alone, i just noticed i haven't posted on my blog since more than a month now...been too frustrated for nothing...im hoping the coming year ahead will be full of surprises...im waiting for answers, but they seem to be forever putting me to the test...also, i haven't still made up my mind on my new year's resoutions...think im just gonna stick to those of last year's...Do what you do best...SLEEP!!! :P Cheerz, Sab :) xx |
