February 08 You gotta be...I found an old song which i sang once at high school...it's one of my old time favorite songs....i just LOVE it! Listen to the lyrics, they have so much meaning and truth. [Des'ree: You gotta be]
Love always,
Sab:) February 06 It's gonna snow again....It's gonna snow again on thursday! I saw it on the weather forecast.
This time, i'll definitely be ready and waiting! hahaha! Do I sound pathetic??? :P
Anywayz, the past week has been quite memorable. I met a good mate of mine, we worked at KPMG together 3 years ago and he and his friends took me to this mauritian restaurant at Acton Town. They even had Phoenix Beer! LOL! The food reminded me of very good memories back home:P (Nad, thanks for the treat again!!!) You ROCK man!!
Then, I also met Beni (from the Philippines), who's a friend of another mate of mine who works at Accenture Mauritius. She's here for a couple of months to work at the client side. We had filipino food together for lunch! It was as yummy as ever!!! Btw, i think i've put on weight a kilo or two maybe, and the issue here is whether i should take it as good news or bad news! I've been eating like crazy these days, so obviously, the increase in weight was kinda much expected anyway!
The london aquarium was very interesting although some people mentioned to me that it was just a waste of time for me, since I come from a tropical island, and most probably the aquarium in Mauritius is much more interesting! But, guys and gals, i'll have to disagree with that. Actually, i have to admit, the aquarium here wasnt up to my expectations, but nevertheless, I did learn loads of new stuff and saw some amazing creatures! Feride, thanks for the ticket! :P I owe you one xxxxx
Otherwise, we're now in week 4, and the assignments are starting to flow in, i guess it's time for calming down and getting in a serious mood for studying....arrrr....but as usual, procrastination is my motto! :P (Old QEC habit of mine :P) Some people tend to work better under pressure, right? 100% perfection is unattainable, but at least 99% is attainable :)
Keep the love going strong,
xxx,
Sab:)
January 25 It snowed in London! It finally snowed...when i woke up this morning, i was exactly like a little child opening gifts on christmas day...So excited!!! hehehe :P
My first reaction was to call up my mates back at home and tell them the good news, then, I took pictures from my room window, rushed out in the corridor and took pictures from the kitchen, so that i could get the whole view of the backyard...I made so much noise, i woke up my flatmates! Guys and gals, sorry about that!!!! But i hope you were able to understand my childishness and helplessness at the very sight of snow! LOL!
Once outside, the snow felt like cotton buds, so light and fluffy, but damn were they cold! Luckily, I was wearing gloves :)
The landscape was such an awesome sight....just like in the fairy tales i used to read when I was a kid, like Snow white and the 7 dwarfs...sincerely!!! I swear i had the feeling of being in a fairy tale. Kat, i just wish you were here to see this! Now I understand what you've been through for 16 years! OMG!
See the pictures on the right for yourselves...They are not perfect, but at least to me, they are...
My hate for the winter season has slightly started to fade away...
Snowingly yours,
S@b...
January 21 Another year, another semesterUni resumed on the 15th of Jan...after 4 weeks of holidaying :P
Ufff.....i had no idea why i didnt want to get back, the holiday was such a good break, i was having such a relaxed life that i guess i didnt want to start the stress of returning assignments, waking up early for lectures, etc...and start all over the routine life again.
Nevertheless, i managed to get through a week of lectures...unwillingly at first, but i am quite reassured now...This semester im gonna take up Computer Crime and Database Security. The computer crime course is way too wicked (at the moment!!! - because i guess it's too early to start judging! :P)On monday night, we organised a surprise for Margaret, since it was her birthday! It was so much fun, since we hid it from her whole day, preparing snacks, inviting people here and there!!! LOL! In friday night, we went out for our first SU party of the semester. The guest was Lee Ryan (From the boyband "Blue"). Even if we (Margaret, Feride, Enis, Adrien, Stan, Adnan, the greek guys from my class and myself) didnt know much of his songs, at least we all had a good time partying together after the long holiday.
Also, this weekend, i attended a birthday party in Southampton, at one of my cousin's mate's place...Iren. It was his 21st birthday, so obviously, this calls in for a blast!!!! LOL!
Dish and I had loads of fun...after dinner, we went clubbing with the whole gang. They are all a bunch of friendly and funny people....i had my share of laughter...phew :P
Otherwise, news update from Big Brother??? Well, Jade got evicted. I guess she deserved it in some sense....she is the bully-type of person and her attitude towards Shilpa was really unacceptable. Actually, no human being deserves to be bullied and treated in the way she treated poor Shilpa. At least, Shilpa had the decency to be respectable in front of national TV and did not answer back in a cruel way...Anywayz....let's see how the remaining weeks goes.
Until then,
Spread the love,
Sab:) My trip to ScotlandScotland was great....8th-13th of Jan, each day more exciting than the other, and full of surprises and adventures :P
8th - 9th Jan: Edinburgh
10th Jan: Elie (little village on the east coast) - Inverness
11th Jan: Isle of Skye - Kyleakin
12th Jan: Glasgow
13th Jan: Back to Uni
Check out the pics from Scotland in the album list on the right...all of them are so descriptive....just browse and enjoy!!!
The most memorable moment of the whole was when I saw the snow on the mountain tops...and the picturesque view of the scottish landscape, it was mind-blowing! I just hope i could have shared this moment with my mates back in Mauritius...
Hope to have similar trips in the future!!!

Preparing for xmasHolidays, holidays, holidays....Is Santa Claus coming to town??? LOL!
My cousins and I prepared the christmas tree last sunday at home.
Sign of which my holidays have officially started....four weeks to be more precise, before I resume Uni again and get back to RHUL. There has been a really huge change in the weather the past week, it's getting colder each day and even the car windows gets frosty in the mornings...!
No plans as yet for the coming weeks but, for sure, i'll be with family and close friends, and this is what counts the most.
Also, today is karen's birthday...a really good mate of mine at Accenture, back in Mauritius. Wish you a very very very blessed birthday. Hope you enjoy yourself and don't forget to have my share of cake:) You guys never forgot a single birthday, we would celebrate everyone's birthday in the break-out area with a huge cake! hehe :P Anyway, hope you guys are having fun for the new year celebrations...Hey guys, do you still remember this? http://aspspider.ws/supersab58/goodbyeAccenture.htm
Peace always,
S@b:)
December 16 Xmas hols at RHULToday is my last day at RHUL before leaving for xmas holidays (4 weeks of holidaying)! Can't believe it....already 2months and a week since I've been here and the amount of things i've done during this time was great....lectures, seminars, assignments, parties, sight-seeing, meeting old friends from high-school, travelling, eating new food, meeting new people, shopping, making new friends...ouf!
Uni was practically empty today, while i went to the library to return my books before leaving this afternoon. My flatmates Margaret and Enis left yesterday. Then, early this morning, Feride left as well....kinda missing them now.....:(
Below are pics from yesterday...
S@b:)
December 11 J-7 for end of Semester 1Another week for the xmas holidays.
We went for wine tasting on thursday night, but as usual, we got there a "little" bit late, so, obviously we missed a couple of wines, but of course we managed to get a taste of the rest of the wine bottles. After the cheese and wine society, we left for crosslands where there was some RHUL band playing...drums, saxo, guitar, etc....there was a wave of cheering, clapping, singing and shouting!!! :P
Also, on tuesday night, feride, adrien and I went to watch the musical "Little shop of horrors" at the Student's Union. It was just amazing! I didnt know RHUL had so many talents! They sang and acted just like professionals! (Thanks Seet Yuan for the invitation!)
On Friday, Margaret and I went for shopping at Staines. Then in the evening, Adrien's cousin (Louise) from France came to spend the weekend. She arrived in the evening, and we met her at the Eramus Society gathering. She's one of those people with whom you get along with in just a matter of minutes...c t super sympa :) After that, we brought her to the SU party (the theme was "Hogwarts School Disco"). Even if the music was kind of crap, she did enjoy herself, because we all were there to lighten up the atmosphere.
On saturday, i had my laundry done in the morning, then, we brought Louise for some sight-seeing in London. We went to Harrod's where i bought jelly beans (im crazy about them!). And London was soooo crowded on that day....i guess many people were doing their xmas shopping. We got to see at least half a dozen of limousines in the London streets, and one of them was a pink one! hehe :P Unfortunately, it drove by so quickly, so i couldnt get a shot of it. After that, we had dinner at Wagamama in Leicester Square, and walked around in Covent Garden afterwards where we watched a few guys singing and doing stunts, then headed back for Egham. In fact, that day, James bought a Poker game at Camden Town, so when we got back to RHUL that night, we did a little poker game in our kitchen...Interesting and mind-blowing! :P
Sunday was a lazy day!!!....Since it was Louise's last day here, we brought her for Fish and Chips at the local pub in Egham. Then, Feride's friend, Mehmet came to join us afterwards, so we brought him back to the local pub, where Arsenal and Chelsea was on TV..everyone's eyes were glued on that TV! arrrr....football....i can never understand you! :P
And that's it....another week at Uni for the holidays to start...
Meanwhile, love and peace to all bloggers out there,
S@b:)
December 02 My fav song...A few words from my favorite song...If I ain't got you - Alicia Keys
Some people live for the fortune
Some people live just for the fame Some people live for the power Some people live just to play the game Some people think that the physical things Define what's within and I've been there before that life's a bore So full of the superficial Some people want it all But I don't want nothing at all If it ain't you baby If I ain't got you baby Some people want diamond rings Some just want everything But everything means nothing If I ain't got you Some people search for a fountain That promises forever young Some people need three dozen roses And that's the only way to prove you love them Hand me the world on a silver platter And what good would it be with no one to share with no one who truly cares for me A couple of events from the past week reminded me of this song...It's about how we tend to give so much importance to unnecessary material things in our lives, when the best things in life are immaterial. It's crazy how people nowadays have given themselves completely to the world of materialism and how they let themselves be controlled blindly by it. They lead a superficial life and the saddest part is that they are not even aware of it. We should be the actors of our own lives, not the spectators.
Lesson learnt this week: Have the courage to change the things you can, have the serenity to accept the things you can't change and the wisdom to know the difference.
I really LOVE this song...it doesnt matter whether i listen to it, or even play it, or sing it a thousand million trillion times, because whenever i do, it feels just the same way...each time...every time.
Life without music is like a starless night sky - S@b :)
November 28 Cyprian Dinner at RunnymedeYesterday, Margaret's parents and relatives prepared a really nice dinner for us! Her parents are very sweet, especially her mum, because she reminds me of my own mum! :)
I enjoyed my meal...i think i ate twice as much as the rest....Geeezz, and I even finished Ad's piece of chocolate cake...(Feride, we missed you loads...wish you were here, it's no fun when you're not around...you would have enjoyed every little bit of the food).
Today again, after the boxing classes at the gym (My legs went completely numb afterwards...arrrrghhhh), Margaret's mum prepared home-made macaroni and rabbit and meatballs. Once again, i gulped down the whole meal in just a few minutes... :P
I've been having really good food the past 3 days, Chinese dinner on Saturday night, Indian dinner on Sunday night, both in London, and Cyprian dinner here with Margaret's parents and today as well! I can feel my cheeks bursting out! LOL! I feel so blessed :)
Wish I had more pictures to post, but you can check on Adrien's blog (http://lostinlondon.canalblog.com/) which is always full of pics, funny and not so funny ones as well :P (Ad, hope you don't mind....I'm sure your blog counter is soon going to explode with the number of hits you will be having! LOL!)
November 27 The 4 musketeers in LondonThis weekend, Adrien, Enis, Feride and I left for London for some sight-seeing...First stop was the Tate Gallery (http://www.tate.org.uk/modern). We spent at least a couple of hours looking at the different paintings, sculptures and other stuff. Then, we took the bus to Covent Garden, walked around, then headed for Leicester Square and had dinner at China town, then spent some time at Trocadero. On Sunday, we just hung around in the surroundings, then had an indian dinner near Gloucester Station, before heading back to Egham in the evening. Then, Feride and I watched 'Dracula', the 1992 version with Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins and Keanu Reeves.
Otherwise, the past week was fine, nothing really exciting apart from my box exercise class. I went to my first class last Tuesday evening at the gym...full of kicking, punching, jumping, etc...i had my dose! Phew! The funniest thing was that when i woke up the next day, i felt like an old lady and i couldnt move my arms and shoulders....arrrhhhh!!! That's the result of not doing sports for more than 2 years! Back in high school i had weekly self-defence classes. I can't wait for the next class again!!! hehe :)
Also, on Friday, i went to meet a childhood friend of mine, Robin, he studies at LSE, and I also had the chance to meet the mauritian society there. I was really glad to meet Adilah and Jessica, we were all in the same high school, in the Student Council...awww...the good old days. Too bad there isn't any Mauritian society here at Royal Holloway.
Oh and my mum sent me sweets from Mauritius today! Awww! I was really glad...They are called 'Coco Bars', it's a traditional philipino sweet. She usually makes them very often back home to give to friends and family...especially my little cousins who are very fond of them.
Another 3 weeks starting today for xmas holidays...Time flies...
Until my next blog entry,
Peace and love to all, Sab:) November 19 Weekend in SouthamptonThe past week has been like a rollercoaster...it has been really fast! It started with the usual lectures and I also had 2 assignments to submit, but hopefully, the second one is due this coming week, so, fortunately i'll have more time to polish it up :)
Otherwise, the weekend started with this Erasmus Society Gathering at the Penrose common room on Friday nite. We arrived there 30 mins before it was over! Duuhhhhh :(
On Saturday morning, i took the train to southampton, going thru the train stations Waterloo, Alton, Winchester and finally Southampton Airport Parkway. Spent the afternoon with family, then in the evening, after a nice dinner at a chinese restaurant called 'Pearl Harbour', Dish took me out (http://www.bambuubar.com/index1.htm). I got to meet friends of Dish, who are all very friendly by the way!!!! Hey, I even had a free smirnoff!!! :)
Then, i spent the whole morning today sleeping until 12pm...ZZZZzzzzz...(old habits don't change!)
Another 4 weeks in RHUL for the xmas holidays...phew! I can't wait!
Dreams are meant to be lived...not to be forgotten (Parole du jour)
Peace and love always,
Sab:)
November 12 High school friends reunitedI met my QEC high school friends this weekend in London. Milly, Stephanie, Beatrice and Alexandra (Bea's friend). I took the train and the tube like a big girl!! It was my first time alone in the tube, and i was hoping i wouldnt be lost along the way! But i managed to get through it...I even got my oyster card (thanks to Milly!!!! :*), so that next time, it's so easier and practical to travel around London.
So, we met up at Leicester Square on Saturday afternoon and went for lunch at this really nice Japanese restaurant...after which we walked around, looking at the shops in China Town, on Oxford Street and on Regent Street and took pics at Picalladilly Circus. Despite the cold, we did really enjoy going around...Actually, it's been quite a while now that we haven't met up in Mauritius, i would say more than a year! And where do we meet? Surprisingly enough, someplace away from home....Geeezzzz....comme on dit "le hasard fait bien des choses"!
I was practically exhausted when we got back to Milly's apartment after having Chinese takeaway and I slept like a baby! (Hey Milly, sorry mone ronfler a soir!) This morning we took the bus to Camden town (li exactement couma dir la foire quatre bornes dan Moris)...Milly got really lovely shoes for a pretty bargain! You go girl!!! It's your birthday tomorrow... :) Cheers for that!
Hope we can do this again sometime girls.... allez Cato Verts!! To meme meilleur!
Lovely week to all...
Peace and love always,
S@b:) November 08 One month already....can't believe it!It's been a month yesterday, the 7th Nov, that i've been here in this freezing cold weather...
Going through my pics with my roomates yesterday while I was showing them the mauritian beaches, etc..., it made me remember how i miss my little paradise island in the sun!!!!
I also do miss my family and friends! Even though i speak to them so often on msn, it obviously does not feel the same...sadly :( I really miss everyone, my family (my sis and my parents), my 2 little annoying cousins...hehe :P (miks and maps), my funny chacha devash, my pretty huggybee katherine, my accenture collegues (anoush, kadou - gro peter dou!, ashfaq, ashwin, arv, jo, yan, trish, jason, dario, james, darl, bhanu, ever, etc...) my ym4c mates, my Uni mates (kev, you, jules, sandy, etc..) my buddy andy, everyone else, and my doggy scooby!!! Phew, such a long list! hehe :) I also miss all my hugs! I LOVE hugs!! Big huge hugs!!! Did you know that a hug a day keeps the doctor away?? :()
Anyway, below are some pics with friends and family in Mauritius...just to let you know that you are always in my thoughts, even though sometimes, i may fail to write, or contact you, okie guys and gals??? Smile and cheer up! Someone loves you! Miss you like hell! Mwah!
The good thing is that i've made really good friends here, for which i am very grateful for! My roomates and also classmates Enis and Margaret; My other pretty roomate, Feride, we're always ready for a vodka kick, rite??? :* Party time! Yeah! LOL!; Adrien, James and Emma, with whom i can freely speak french whenever i feel like! :P And also the others Victor, Martina, who are also friendly mates to be around. And of course, my classmates, they can be so funny at times! Phew! :()
And I also have my 2 so wonderful cousins Shalu and Disha, who make me feel just so great about being here! I love you both like crazy! Mwah!
Love and peace to all, S@b:) November 07 Shopping for dinner (French dinner s'il vous plait!!!)I had no classes yesterday, so i went to Sainsbury's with Ad to do some shopping for dinner tonight in Runnymede, with everyone! We're gonna have a nice French meal, to be prepared by Ad...Im sure it's gonna be a dinner to remember! It's not everyday that a guy prepares de la haute french cuisine for us! hehehehe :)
Bon appetit a tous!
Until then, peace and love to all,
S@b:) November 05 Urban GroovesYesterday night, we went to a party organised by the Student Union. Urban grooves, kinda like R & B music. Had loads of fun, as usual! :P
There was this group of students doing acrobatic moves on the floor, it was too coool to watch them do that! Geeezzz! Adrien also had a few friends from France here for a couple of days for holidays, so they joined us and we all had a great time together, it was a great opportunity for me to practice my poorly spoken French! LOL!
And before going to the SU, in fact, there was a party in our flat, on the last floor, so we went to say hi (zis pu couma dir montrer figir, lerla noune chal!!!).
Today i did practically nothing, it's saturday anyway, come on! Give me a break! LOL! We played cards (a new game i learnt from the Frenchies). Have some plans for tomorrow, but i seriously need to start giving more attention to the assignments which are due in the coming weeks....Il faut travailler dur pour avoir son pain! :)
Until then, peace and love to all...
November 03 HalloweenWednesday night was halloween night on campus...oh and by the way, that was first halloween....Geeeezzz! It was kinda cool, coz everyone had crazy costumes on...which is not a normal thing to see everyday! :)
Adrien and Enis had their black suits and tie, the Blues Brothers. Victor had his scream mask, which looked totally wicked on him! Feride had a really cooool kind of like devil's ears hairband which suited her perfectly, and last but not least, myself, Pocahontas (not very surprising, since everyone at Uni in Mauritius calls me Poca...short for Pocahontas...duuhhhhh!) See pics below, they are totally great...I thought i would be the only one with an american red indian outfit, but there was another girl who kind of like dressed up similarly, so I asked Adrien to take a pic of us both. More pics to be posted soon.....
Until then, peace and love to all... October 29 First day out by train...Yesterday was my first day out by train to London...Yipee!!! :)
Actually, i've been to London already on my third day here in UK, but that was only at night, my cousins took me around London to see the city lights. It was simply awesome!
So, as I was saying, yesterday Feride and I left Uni in the morning and headed for the Egham train station which is just a 10-min walk from here. 9 pounds 90 for a one-day ticket to London...sa fer mwa a peu pres Rs600 pu aster mo tiket train...kan mo penser ki mo plaigner pu paye Rs25 pu al Port-Louis dan bis depi Curepipe....haha :) Luckily for us, we met with Alex, our taiwanese roomate who was concidentially also going to Leicester Square...so we headed for Waterloo and Leicester Square together, and he showed us the way around the train station and the tube. Phew!
Arriving at Leicester Square, Feride and I walked round the place, took some pics and got into some shops. What i liked the most were the music shops where they sold musical instruments...wish i could get myself a piano! LOL! hehehehe :) They also have so many theatres around, (www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk). We then met a turkish friend of Feride and 3 of his friends, a guy from South Korea and 2 girls from Taiwan. All 3 of them are postgraduate and study at Kingston Uni. So, there we were, 6 of us trying to find our way to Turkish town...don't ask me how to get there though...i don't remember what bus or which way we took...i just know that we finally got there! I had the most yummy food (all Turkish food; Pide, Manti and Yayla Coradsi) since a long time (FYI, etant donne ki mo extra paresse pu al cuit mazer compliker tou les zours, mo zis met frozen pizza, pasta ou burger dan four et c tout...et voila! Dans 5 mins mo avale mo dinner! LOL!).
After the lovely lunch, we went around walking and visiting the surroundings, then, we headed back for Central London, where the millenium birdge is found...(i actually can't remember the exact name of the place, something like Gabriel's wharf...??) but it was worth it! I got to see the London eye, St. Paul's Cathedral and many other landmarks which i only saw in pictures and movies back in Mauritius. Then, we went around inside Tate gallery (it's a huge art gallery), to see loads of people queuing to get a ride into that i thought was the longest tube slide ever....(si mo pa tromper, slide la plis longue ki black hole ki ena dans waterpark dans Maurice). We stayed there and watched in amazement everyone sliding down from the 4th floor. :)
All tired and hungry, we left our kingston mates, then we headed back for Waterloo at around 9pm and caught our train back to Egham and RHUL...but of course, always not too tired to party...so, with the ladies only this time...Martina (Spain) and her friend Alice ( Martina's friend from Spain), Feride and myself headed for Tommy's bar and we ended the night with a couple of drinks.
That was one of the best days i've had since i came here...thanks to Feride...think im trying to get myself used to the way around here, but i still need loads of practice...especially taking the tube (i'll be totally lost if i was alone!).
One other thing im thankful for is that i finally got a small world map, so when people ask me where is Mauritius, i no longer have to draw a world map for them! hehehe :)
Until then, peace and love to all,
